Hardware DNA

The character came first.

Built from the original MEGAfm Mark I — not merely inspired by it. VMEGAfm runs the original firmware at its core. Its analogue path combines behaviour modelled from the original schematics with a compact GRU trained on matched audio captures of the real output stage.

Together they reproduce the level-dependent compression, saturation and time-dependent fuzzy response that give the hardware its unmistakable character — without pretending two analogue machines are ever sample-for-sample identical.

Is this the MEGAfm hardware synthesizer?

No. VMEGAfm is built from the original MEGAfm Mark I. The original firmware runs at its core, while the analogue output combines behaviour modelled from the hardware schematics with a compact GRU trained on audio captures of the real output stage. The desktop edition runs standalone or as AU/VST3; the separately sold iPad app runs standalone or as AUv3.

Which plug-in formats are included?

macOS includes Audio Unit and VST3. Windows includes VST3. Both platforms also include a standalone instrument.

How many computers can I use?

Your personal licence can be registered on the computers you personally own or use. The licence itself must not be shared.
