FM polysynth

TWISTfm

Twisted Electrons fm opl3 synth
€979,00

TWISTfm brings classic OPL3 FM into a true performance polysynth: eight voices, one analog multimode filter per voice, deep modulation, firmware 3.2, and a new browser editor that opens the instrument up when you want to go deeper.

Firmware 3.2 makes TWISTfm move

The new firmware adds looping envelopes, turning static FM patches into evolving tones that breathe, pulse, and drift. It is a perfect fit for pads, slow harmonic shifts, and animated textures: set the operators moving, let the analog filters shape the result, and the patch keeps changing without losing the hardware feel.

Two Yamaha YMF262 chips still deliver the glass, bark, and metallic complexity that made OPL3 FM unforgettable. TWISTfm pushes that character further with dedicated per-voice analog filtering, drive, resonance modes, MPE, ribbon gestures, presets, and a 128-step sequencer.

A full editor for the details

The new TWISTfm editor gives quick access to the settings that are hardest to manage from a compact front panel. Connect in the browser and work across MIDI setup, operator behavior, LFOs, envelopes, ribbon response, sequencer pages, arpeggiator settings, scale, chord, vibrato, and tremolo without installing a desktop app.

It does not replace the instrument. It makes the deeper layer visible, so you can set up the performance feel, refine modulation, and return to the faders with a clearer patch.

FM with muscle and control

Instead of hiding the engine behind menus, TWISTfm puts the architecture under your hands. Build precise electric tones, unstable digital percussion, wide moving pads, or aggressive leads, then animate them with looping envelopes, LFOs, ribbon gestures, presets, and MPE performance data.

New browser editor

Quick access to the settings inside the box.

The TWISTfm editor gives the deep layer room to breathe. Connect in the browser and work across MIDI setup, operators, LFOs, envelopes, ribbon response, sequencer pages, arpeggiator, scale, chord, vibrato, and tremolo settings without installing a desktop app.

  • See setup and operator behavior clearly on one screen
  • Adjust the practical performance settings before a session
  • Return to the faders with the patch structure already dialed in

Firmware 3.2 motion

Looping envelopes for pads that keep evolving.

Firmware 3.2 includes looping envelopes, so FM patches can breathe, pulse, and drift without needing constant manual movement. It is especially strong for slow pads and animated textures: the operators move, the analog filters shape the result, and the sound keeps changing.

  • Loop envelope movement for evolving FM layers
  • Shape pads, drones, and animated chord textures faster
  • Use the editor to keep modulation, arpeggiation, scale, vibrato, and tremolo settings visible
