Hybrid acid machine

acid8 MKII

Twisted Electrons acid analog bassline
€312,00 Sold out

acid8 MKII is a compact hybrid acid machine where a raw 8-bit oscillator drives an analog VCA and resonant low-pass filter. It can do tight basslines, broken digital shapes, rubbery slides, and aggressive squelch without turning the workflow into menu work.

Draw a waveform and make the hardware speak

The browser editor adds a waveform drawer that makes sound design feel physical. Draw with the mouse and acid8 follows, turning your sketch into a custom oscillator shape that still finishes through the analog VCA and resonant filter.

That is the interesting part: the waveform begins as a direct gesture on screen, but the result is not trapped in software. The custom shape becomes part of the acid8 voice, ready to be driven by slides, accents, filter movement, and the rest of the hardware signal path.

Pattern editing built for acid motion

The pattern editor lays notes, slides, accents, rests, skips, swing, and envelope pitch control across a readable 16-step grid. You can see the bassline move before you commit, tighten the phrase visually, then send the idea back into the box.

Digital bite into analog pressure

Choose from 16 waveforms, automate movement per step, redraw your own shapes, and push the signal into strange harmonics with bit-level tricks and DSP processing. After that digital edge, the analog VCA and resonant low-pass filter give patterns their weight, snap, and squelch.

Highlights

  • Hybrid acid machine with 8-bit oscillator, analog VCA, and resonant low-pass filter
  • Browser waveform drawer for custom shapes that update the hardware voice directly
  • Visual pattern editor for notes, slides, accents, rests, skips, swing, and envelope pitch control
  • 16 waveforms with per-step automation and editable custom shapes
  • Multiple DSP tricks for bit crushing, sample-rate reduction, inversion, and more
  • Envelope pitch modulation and fast motion options for percussive sounds
  • Step sequencer built for slides, variation, and repeatable acid phrasing
  • MIDI sync for locking into a larger performance rig

Editor + demos

Draw shapes. Build acid lines fast.

Pattern editor

See the acid line before it bites.

The acid8 editor opens the sequencer into a clear 16-step grid, so notes, slides, accents, rests, skips, swing, and envelope pitch movement are easier to shape before the pattern hits the hardware.

  • Build basslines visually across pitch, rest, slide, accent, and skip lanes
  • Use swing and envelope pitch controls without losing the phrase
  • Request patterns from acid8, refine them, and send ideas back fast

Waveform drawer

Draw and reshape the oscillator as it drives through the analog filter.

Sketch a waveform with the mouse and acid8 follows. Your drawing becomes a custom oscillator shape inside the hardware voice, ready to be pushed through the analog VCA and resonant low-pass filter.

  • Draw custom waves with fine, normal, or large brush control
  • Turn rough mouse gestures into playable acid8 oscillator shapes
  • Chain waveforms so patterns can shift tone as they move
